Picking a niche

You often hear people asking “what is a profitable niche that I should pick”. The obvious answer they are given is pick a niche that you know something about or you are interested in. Now, that may not always work because it may be a very difficult market to compete in or the reverse – no competition at all. If you want to enter a market where there is a lot of competition, why not pick a micro niche.

To find a profitable niche, requires some research. These are two ways that may help you find a niche.

The first is to go to www.google.com. On the left hand box, as facing your computer, you will this at the  “categories” click on this and pick a category. This will give you a list of sub-categories . Now type the sub-category you pick into the top box “word or phrase.”You can now see the relevant key word, monthly searches, competition and the suggested bid for that particular word.  This now will let you know if the category you have in mind would be a profitable niche.

The second tool to use is Amazon. Yes, this is a very good place to find a niche or how popular your chosen niche could be. Just go and click here:  http://www.amazon.com/ .

Click on the “Books” on the top left hand corner and then click on “magazines”. On the search bar at the top of the page click on “Browse subjects”. Now this will give you the category and if you click on the category you will be able to see the magazines that are available for that category. All these magazines would not be produced if there weren’t people searching for information about that particular niche.

Click on a category and again on the left hand side you will see how many subcategories there are and then click on one of these and you see how many magazines are written on each one. If they are publishing several magazines on a particular subject, you will know that you have probably found a profitable niche.

Mindset

We have all heard the word mindset. What is the definition of mindset? A mindset is best defined as having a group of assumptions or ideas that you believe in. I know you have heard the phase “believe to achieve” but there is much more to it than that.

Nothing in life is achieved by just sitting dreaming about it. You have to be motivated and productive to achieve the results you want. Always set yourself achievable goals but you need a workable plan to achieve the goals.

The right mindset, for what ever you want to achieve, is the same and I will attempt to describe it for you.

Always be positive in your thoughts. Positive thinkers are happy and healthy whereas the negative thinker often suffers depression and health problems. This is a scientific fact. Depression can lead to some severe health issues. When a person is positive, people will be attracted to them like a magnet.

If you walk into a room where people are negative and unhappy, you want to turn and run, lock the door and throw away the key. Well – not that bad but you know you want out. I know I do not like being around negative people because they just drag you down and you feel worse yourself – to be truthful I try and avoid them.

Now in the field of Internet Marketing, being positive is essential. The thoughts you have, and the actions you take, will dictate the results you achieve. The plan you follow is the logical sequence that will bring you results.

How do you know what the plan is? Easy – I suggest you get a coach who can guide you and help you achieve top results. A coach/mentor is an essential part of your success because they can guide and assist you. Notice I said assist – because you have to be prepared to do the work. Every day have your written plan and follow it and you will eventually reach the goals that you set yourself and then you create new goals and new plans.

To  YOUR success!

All in a Week

Last week I spent a week in the Australia bush in a town called Longreach. Australia is such a vast country. We went there on a train known as the Spirit of the Outback and the journey takes 24 hours.
Longreach is known as the beginning of the Qantas airline. It originally started (90 years ago) as a mail service but soon it was taking passengers as well.

The town has created a Qantas museum. Qantas stands for “Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services” and has come a long way since it first began. The headquarters are now in Sydney but the service is very proud of its beginnings. The Qantas fleet now circles the globe carrying passengers and cargo all over the world.

There are two planes there that you can walk through and see what it is like to be in the pilot’s seat. There is a 747 and a 707. The 707 is one of two that are still able to fly. The other one is owned and flown by John Travolta who has become an ambassador for Qantas. The museum buildings are quite extensive, displaying aircraft from former years.

Just across the road is the Stockman’s Hall of Fame. This was opened and dedicated to the stockman who originally opened up much of Australia.

Now apart from enjoying the sights in and around Longreach, there was one thing that I did not enjoy. The internet was only available from one carrier and if you moved too far out of the town there was no service at all.

You can easily see that I know I could never live where I cannot get the internet. I felt completed isolated from my friends. I was glad to get back home last Friday. I had over 500 emails waiting for me and heaps of skype messages.

So now I am back here to work on my internet marketing and I love it. I am starting a great new course Internet Business Code X.

Always nice to go on holidays but there is no place like home.

Do You Know About Google +1 Button

Wow! Just found out that Google are now trying to get more market share back from Facebook by using their+1 button. You may be wondering what the +1 button is all about. It is similar to the Facebook’s “like” button

It is still in trial stage but they have come up with the idea because Facebook is gaining more and more users.

Why? Facebook is social media and people who go on Facebook to chat seem to stay on facebook. Google, on the other hand, was primarily known as a search engine but times are a changing.

You may not have even noticed it when you do a search on Google but it is there.

Go and do a search on Google and I am sure you will see it straight after the title.

So if you want to learn all about it I would suggest you read exactly what Google has to say. I am sure you will find it very interesting.

“What this power is I cannot say; all I know is that it exists and it becomes available only when a man is in that state of mind in which he knows exactly what he wants and is fully determined not to quit until he finds it.” Alexander Graham Bell

Let’s examine this positive quote. What is the power that Alexander Graham Bell is referring to? It is the mindset – it is the power to achieve what you believe is possible.

Unfortunately most people do not believe in their own ability to accomplish what they really want to do. They find reasons that they try to justify why they cannot reach the goals they set. We know these people to be “interested” because they will invent roadblocks and excuses when they do not achieve their desired goal. They can never accept that they themselves are to blame. They will blame others around them or the world they live in but never will they examine what they are saying and know they are just making excuses. This number of people who fit into this category could be as high 97%. Yes that is the sad fact of life. Three percentage of the world earn 97% of the money and taste success.

The 3% fit into the category of “committed.” This means that they will complete what ever they try to do. Take for example – Edmund Hillary, the man who climbed Mount Everest in May 1953. He was a bee keeper in New Zealand and he had no idea how he was going to climb the mountain but he had the belief that it was possible. He first attempted the climb in 1952 but did not reach the summit. He returned the next year and along with Tenzing Norgay (his Sherpa guide) climbed to the top of the mountain and erected the New Zealand flag.

Edmund Hillary had no idea how he was going to climb Mount Everest but he had a burning desire and believed that it was possible. His belief never wavered and that is why he was able to achieve what had not been done before.

So if you really want to achieve something in life – believe in yourself and believe that it is possible and you will definitely succeed.

Getting it Right!

Well I have just returned from Trey Smith‘s “The Software System” seminar in San Diego. Wow- what a line up of presenters. There were some of the top names in the business.

All the presenters were great – Trey had really managed to get some great people there including (just a few) Mike Koenigs, Christian Weslak, Mike Filsaime, Frank Kern, Ed Dale and Bob Proctor.

Now a few of the speakers I had seen on webinars but there is nothing like going and listening to them speak – live. One of the stands outs for me was Bob Proctor – the only person to speak for two hours straight and most of the audience (from comments later) would have been happy to continue to listen to him longer.

He spoke on one of my favourite subjects – having the right attitude and mindset to achieve what you want to achieve. So many people in all walks of life allow themselves to be defeated and never reach their full potential and achieve what they want. They come to some difficult point and never investigate ways to overcome it. As Bob said “Failing is part of learning.” Everything in life does not always run smoothly so we have to look at ways to solve any problems we encounter along the way.

He told the story of the race to get a man on the moon. President Kennedy wanted to send a man to the moon and to bring him back safely. When the president asked Dr Wernher Von Braun this could be accomplished – Von Braun answered “The will to do it.”

This is what we all must have – the will to do it and the determination to succeed. Wishing alone will not get you want you want, you must take positive and affirmative action to reach the goals you have set for yourself.

To YOUR success

Procrastination –Why?

Posted by Sue | Posted in Mindset | Posted on

Why is it that some times we procrastinate? Is it because we can be lazy or is it because we lack the knowledge and do not know how to tackle the task we should be doing?

Many times is the later. If we have insufficient knowledge – it is like a paralysing fear. We want to start the task but because we are not sure that we know how to fully complete it, we tend to put it aside and not start it at all. This fear is often irrational but we tend to think, what others will think or say if you fail. The problem here is compound because you are thinking what others will think instead of just trying to start the task. When it comes to this, think about yourself and forget the others around you. You will probably find that they will praise you for doing something that you wanted to do.

Once you start, you may surprise yourself when you see that there was really nothing to fear because you find it relatively easy. If you need help, why not ask. There are many people amongst your friends and colleagues who will help you, if you feel that you lack the knowledge or skills. Most people will go out of their way to assist you. There is a saying I love “You have to do it for yourself, but you do not have to do it alone.”

The thing about our society is we do the things we feel comfortable doing or things that we have to do during our normal day. This keeps us busy but to step out of our comfort zone and attempt something else scares us.

So this being my year, I am stepping out of my comfort zone and not procrastinating any longer. I am going to complete any task I attempt but I may need help along the way.

To YOUR success

Formula for Self Confidence

Posted by Sue | Posted in Mindset | Posted on

Tags: ,

1. I know that I have the ability to achieve the object of my definite purpose in life; therefore, I demand of myself persistent, continuous action towards its attainment.

2. I realize the dominating thoughts of my mind will eventually reproduce themselves in outward, physical action, and gradually transform themselves into physical reality; therefore I will concentrate my thoughts for thirty minutes daily upon the task of thinking of the person I intend to become, thereby creating in my mind a clear mental picture of that person.

3. I know through the principle of auto-suggestion any desire I persistently hold in my mind will eventually seek expression through some practical means of attaining its object; therefore I will devote ten minutes daily to demanding of myself the development of self-confidence.

4. I have clearly written down a description of my definite chief aim in life, and I will never stop trying until I shall have developed sufficient self-confidence for its attainment.

5. I fully realize that no wealth or position can long endure unless built on truth and justice; therefore, I will engage in no transaction which does not benefit all whom it affects. I will succeed by attracting to myself the forces I wish to use, and the cooperation of other people. I will induce others to serve me because of my willingness to serve others. I will eliminate hatred, envy, jealousy, selfishness and cynicism by developing love for all humanity, because I know that a negative attitude toward others can never bring me success. I will cause others to believe in me, because I will believe in them and in myself.

I will sign my name to this formula, commit it to memory, and repeat it aloud once a day, with full faith that it will gradually influence my thoughts and actions so that I will become a self-reliant and successful person.
