Hi to all aspiring Internet Marketers! I heard this the other day and thought how much it applies to all things in your life but especially for me it relates very well to Internet Marketing. So many people are drawn into the world of internet marketing with the promises of making a lot of money very quickly. They hear of the success stories and they think they will be able to replicate them but the truth of the matter is very different.

For someone just starting out, it is easy to be carried away and buy all the courses and books that are offered to you, because you are told that it is easy to make from a few hundred to thousands of dollars overnight. Sadly after spending, sometimes many thousands of dollars, they come to the realization that it is not easy and the only one that has made money is the person who sold them the material in the first place.

Unfortunately, this could be my story and part of it is. I was the gullible newbie who wanted so desperately to make money that I was shelling out money for video courses and books until I realized that there had to be an easier way. I was a bit like a ship without a rudder. Yes I was in the water but certainly not going any where and maybe even ready to drown. If there was an easier way – I was determined to find it.

Now what I really needed was a coach, a teacher and someone who would mentor me. Now there is a Chinese proverb that says “When the student is ready the teacher will come”. I had studied Chin,se philosophy and found a lot of wisdom in it. So, it was no surprise, that one day I found this email in my inbox from someone I certainly did not know and it was a free gift from a person called Mark Terrell. I now know that it was an adswap, but I did know that then. My curiosity was aroused because when I clicked on the link inside the email this is what I saw.

So I decided to investigate who was this guy Mark Terrell and and what did he mean by ‘Helping Newbies”? Well the rest is history – after contacting Mark I enrolled in his coaching program for Newbies. Now, if you have read some of my previous posts, you will know that I was invited back to go through the course for a second time. Mark had so much demand for the course that he decided to do the Newbies course again before we could progress on to the Advanced.  The Advanced course should be starting in a few weeks and I know that is just going to be the most interesting time learning how to create multiple streams of income and becoming the success that I believe that I can be.

So this is Sue McDonald telling you – “If it is going to be – it is up to me” but it is up to YOU.

I Think I Need a New Name!

“McDonald’s faces lawsuit over Happy Meals,” reports the LA Times. “McDonald’s and toy lawsuit: Are ‘Happy Meals’ tricking kids?” reads a CBS News headline. A Google News search turns up hundreds and hundreds of similar articles about a looming lawsuit over using Happy Meal toys to illegally market junk food to kids.

But the litigation director of the Washington-based advocacy group threatening legal action told The Daily Caller that his group doesn’t really want to sue.

“We are hopeful that McDonald’s will settle so that we do not have to go to court,” Stephen Gardner of the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) said.

“The CSPI has never even seen the inside of a courtroom. They just use the threat as leverage,” Justin Wilson, senior research director for the Center for Consumer Freedom said in an interview. “This is just another in a long chain of frivolous lawsuits by the CSPI.”’

The Best Laid Plans….

Hi this is Sue and if you read my blogs, you will know that I am big on goals and having a plan to achieve those goals. Well, that went out the window this week in the worst possible fashion.

On Monday night, I started to feel sick and I thought I had managed to get a “24 hour” virus – so even though I had been sick I told myself, if I could get some sleep I may feel washed out in the morning but well on the way to recovery. I had a very restless night and by the time morning came I was starting to feel a little better. I thought I would just have a little extra time in bed and catch up on lost sleep.

I got up at about 8am and wandered out to the kitchen but didn’t want anything to eat. So I went in and had a shower and still felt a little weird so I thought I would lie down again. Fortunately, I fell asleep. I got up a few hours later and I felt a little hungry. Ah! This is good I am getting better. I stayed up and had a bowl of soup but by 7pm felt really tired. I decided bed sounded like a good idea again. I then thought – this 24 hour virus might be a 48 hour virus and the body needs the sleep.

Then within 2 hours, I started getting aches and stabbing pains all over my body. I couldn’t sit up, I couldn’t lie down and I found it difficult to stand. Every part of me said “do not touch, I hurt”. My husband wanted me to get in the car and he would drive to hospital but I knew I couldn’t sit in the car – it was going to be difficult to get in and then difficult to get out. Has this ever happened to you? It was the worst feeling. He rang an ambulance because I was really a mess and he was concerned. The ambulance delivered me to accident and emergency and then I had to lie down ( I had sat in the back of the ambulance). It took all my strength to get on the bed and then the doctor went to touch me – I had an ECG to see if I wasn’t having a heart attack and because I was so upset by this time she ordered morphine and a drip.

After about another 2-3 hours, things got a bit blurry, she finally said she thought it was appendicitis and she was calling a surgeon to confirm it. He came and confirmed it and said theater in 2 hours. I was still sore and sorry for myself, after the operation, but well on the way to recovery. The surgeon told me the appendix was so close to bursting it wasn’t funny.

So from now on, I will maybe think of getting to see a doctor in the middle of the day. The operation was performed using keyhole surgery so I was allowed home after 24 hours. Now all I have to do is wade through the emails and catch up with the work I had planned to do.

So if you are like me, a little stubborn when it comes to going to the doctor, I would advise you to give it serious thought. I was really lucky but even though I was in agony, I didn’t want to think it could be anything major but who knows – never be your own physician (unless of course you are a doctor) always seek help.
